Substations

IEC prides itself in the capability to provide substation construction from the ground up.  We have the experience of building substations in both urban and remote locations throughout many regions of the western United States. Facets of our substation construction include:

Distribution

Underground medium voltage distribution has long been a specialty of IEC. Our normal scope of work includes:
  • manholes
  • concrete encased duct banks
  • pad mounted switches
  • transformers
  • power cable
  • terminations

Industrial

Industrial construction requiring 600v, 5kV and 15kV (or higher) power circuitry is within our scope of expertise, as well as switchboards, motor control centers and associated equipment including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).  This also includes work requiring installation of rigid conduit and work in electrically hazardous locations.

Commerical / Fire Alarms

As noted on our Project Reference List we have performed numerous commercial projects, including many unique installations. Such installations have included power, lighting, control, communication and fiber optic work.

Our specialized fire systems will comply with current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, local codes, and the client's unique insurance requirements.
