Cable feeds directly from a trailer equipped with hydraulic reel bars controlling the cable's speed and rotation. Feeding cable into a manhole is facilitated by a "slinky" mechanism that automatically applies a consistent lubricant flow and creates a smooth protected route for the cable. Simultaneously, a block on the truck maintains a constant 24" cable bending radius, and a tensionmeter electronically logs pulling tensions and peaks for the client's records. Supply pre-cut cable in appropriate lengths for maximum efficiency. A numbering system and labeled cable reels promote a well-organized job layout. Instead of removing small cable chunks one at a time, old cable is quickly "reeled" onto a trailer in a highly mechanized process, yielding lower cost and greater safety. Fully mechanized mandrelling (drilling) clears out duct-bearing conduits.
