INTERSTATE Electrical Contractors, Inc. (IEC) Cable Delivery
and Quality Control Systems have made MANUAL rigging and cable
pulling obsolete and unreliable.
Even tough cables have bending limits, can be cut and nicked
during installation, and the cable's pulling tension must be carefully
observed.
IEC developed innovative and proprietary systems that solve each
of these problems..
- Cable feeds directly from a trailer equipped with hydraulic
reel bars controlling the cable's speed and rotation.
- Feeding cable into a manhold is facilitated by a "slinky"
mechanism that automatically applies a consistent lubricant
flow and creates a smooth protected route for the cable.
- Simultaneously, a block on the truck maintains a constant
24" cable bending radius, and a tensionmeter electronically
logs pulling tensions and peaks for the client's records.
- Supply pre-cut cable in appropriate lengths for maximum
efficiency. A numbering system and labeled cable reels
promote a well-organized job layout.
- Instead of removing small cable chunks one at a time,
old cable in quickly "reeled" onto a trailer
in a highly mechanized process, yielding lower cost and
greater safety.
- Fully mechanized mandrelling (drilling) clears out duct-bearing
conduits.
